Black Panther (2016) #1
Here we are guys with the issue number one of Black Panther ongoing which is also a part of “A Nation Under Our Feet” storyline. We are still looking into Wakanda and see what’s changed in Secret Wars. The comic opens up as T'Challa recalls his past failures against his ancestors, being cast out from his own country and then to have his own people having questioned him about what he’s really trying to do as a King of that nation.

Then we see the Great Mound where T'Challa tries to praise the Vibranium miners for their hard work but someone’s manipulating them. Filling them with hate and trying to start a Civil War. T'Challa may question himself but he still knows that he is the Black Panther and with that he can track anyone through the wind and rain. Because he hasn’t tracked just the body, he tracks the very soul of a person. But then the deceiver’s scent has gone stale sort and he stops his pursuit with a soldier telling him that he must call the rest of the soldiers before it turns into a massacre.

The comic then cuts to the Golden City of Wakanda where sentencing of Aneka, the former captain of the Royal Guard for killing a chieftain without evidence for his wrongdoings. And it is then quickly change from black and white to gray when someone she cares about is the one being sentenced, the hooded woman speaks after the sentencing.

We then find out that the woman is none other than Ramonda, step-mother to King T'Challa. She asks his son what happened at the mines. He says that he tried to reason with the workers but it was no use. They were listening to someone else. Ramonda asks what they should do now and T'Challa says that he will find her and kill her to stop the madness. But his mother asks if death is always the answer and that Wakanda has bigger troubles than one person. Such as strife, invasion, flood, infiltration and regicide are among other things that he needs to focus on. But T'Challa decides to handle one problem at a time and Ramonda says, he should stop chasing ghosts and what really is important and not to lose oneself in the killing, because he isn’t a soldier but a king.

A King, Not a Soldier
Then the panel shifts to a woman in a green and her complex as we see they have agendas too rather than freeing the people of Wakanda. They are poisoned themselves as new rulers if the uprising works with filling people with rage. We then see former Dora Milaje, Aneka is being held in a prison where a breakout is staged by her lover Ayo. Later at the campfire as they contemplate whether they should be doing right now because they are both as good as dead by going against their king and believe that he does not care about Wakanda anymore.

The Midnight Angels!
We cut to the burial site of the previous Black Panthers, known as Necropolis where T'Challa ponders how long must he divided by his own people, to be hated by his own blood. And as the book ends we see T'Challa try to resuscitate his own sister Shuri.

Departure of Blood
It was a great first issue we see T'Challa think about what’s currently going on with Wakanda and how he copes with everything being a ruler that no one loves or even likes anymore because they just say that he’s just doing this for his own selfish reasons and not care for the people of his own, like he shifts from the previous Black Panthers and we see the inner struggles that has divided T'Challa from his own countrymen to the rest of the world. And he’s also lonely as these family things torn him apart. We see that Shuri is still dead for the most part and he is constantly trying to bring her back at the end. I do like that and we will see what happens next. It’s basically a Civil War. In a Civil War, whistle blowers are rallying up the common folks for no apparent reason or their own agendas which is here we’re trying to claim the throne for themselves, which I also love. Can’t wait for the next issue of this Marvel Comics series but the arc’s a little iffy for me to give this issue a high praise but writer Ta-Nehisi Coates and artist Brian Stelfreeze (Domino, Wednesday Comics) really pulled it nicely in overall.

Thanos (2016) #1 Review

Thanos (2016) #1 If you have been following comics for any amount of time recently, I don’t think that it’s a surprise at all that we’ve seen an influx of movie characters starts to take the spotlights. A couple of years ago we had Thanos Rising , which is one series that really understands The Mad Titan . This week, Marvel launched the first issue of a brand-new series featuring Thanos , which is going to put the entire spotlight on the tyrant himself and take us in a brand-new direction. So, let’s just jump right in to the story. As the book gets going, the writer here Jeff Lemire ( Essex County , Extraordinary X-Men – X-Haven ), who should be a familiar name to a lot of you takes a little bit of time to catch up with what’s been happening. The last couple of time we seen Thanos , things weren’t exactly going as good as they should have been. During Civil War II , he was defeated and he was taken down again by Doctor Doom before that in Secret Wars . So, Thanos is ki...

Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #2 Review

Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #2 Peter Parker has come face-to-face with his sister but is there more to this story than meets the eye. Let's find out in issue number two. So, as the second issue opens up we catch up with Peter Parker who is of course in Chicago and here we see Peter is face to face with Ironheart who was joking about the fact that he is here to arrest her but he says, that she is the wrong person. He wasn't actually here to arrest Ironheart . It's more so that he's after the actual Infamous Iron Man , who is of course Doctor Doom but for now he'll just settle for getting her autograph. So, Ironheart isn't going to have none of his crap and she quickly just you know, bolts right into him. Takes him up into the sky, they both come crashing down and then there's a tiny little fight and then after that's all said and done we see, Peter Parker finally gets to talk to Tony Stark , or at least the AI consciousness th...

Superior Spider-Man #2 Review

Superior Spider-Man #2 Welcome to my review of Superior Spider-Man , issue number two from  Marvel Comics   and this is of course that cover where we see Spider-Man is making out with Mary Jane Watson and there is a rumor that he's going to rape her. You know, what's everybody's been saying. Well, let's get into this. It opens up and we got your Spider-Man . He's actually being congratulated by Jay Jonah Jameson and we see Parker 's spirit still wandering there. He's like, all these years I get nothing and suddenly you take over my body and he likes you. He admits he was wrong. I find that bit funny and as the comment goes on we see that Pete is trying to get into MJ 's pants, except every attempt he makes doesn't work. So, he constructs to those little nano-bot type of spiders just a note to help him out and commands hi Mechanoid to replicate 800 more. Over the course of come to see he keeps going China to date MJ and different...

Extraordinary X-Men #3 Review

Extraordinary X-Men #3 The bonds of time in space and even other dimensions aren’t going to be enough to keep the mutants from re-uniting, all these and more in pages of Extraordinary X-Men number #3. Let’s hop in and see what happens next, shall we? The comic opens up in the mysterious X-Haven , only it’s not so mysterious anymore. Turns out, Storm and the rest of the teachers to avoid human violence against mutants decided to move the entire school inside Limbo and while the real estate might be to die for the neighbors and their little ornery mainly because their Demons are now attacking the school. Storm and Iceman do everything they can to turn the tide of the battle but this is a very losing proposition right now. Everyone else in X-Haven is either untrained or too sick to fight the Demon horde. From there we transit over to Logan who is having a meet-up with Jean Grey of Earth-TRN240 for the first time. Shockingly these two actually have a lot in common seeing ...
